Frequently Asked Questions

Delivery

How long will my order take?
3–6 business days in total — 1–2 business days for us to pick and pack, then 2–4 business days with Royal Mail.

What does delivery cost?
Nothing. Free UK delivery on every order, no minimum spend.

Do you ship outside the UK?
Not at the moment. We deliver to the United Kingdom only.

Can I track my parcel?
Yes. You'll get a tracking number by email when it's dispatched. Allow up to 24 hours for the carrier's tracking to update.

Returns

How long do I have to return something?
14 days from delivery to tell us, and another 14 days to send it back.

Who pays the return postage?
We do. A prepaid return label is already in your parcel.

Is there a restocking fee?
No.

Can I exchange instead of refund?
Yes. Tell us what you'd prefer and we'll settle any price difference either way.

When will I get my money back?
Within 5 business days of your return reaching us.

Power tools

Do the Makita tools come with a battery?
Usually not. Most of our Makita listings are body only — the tool, no battery and no charger — and both the product title and the description say so. They run on any Makita 18V LXT lithium-ion battery. The twin packs and kits are the exception and include batteries; the description lists exactly what is in the box.

What does LXT mean?
It is Makita's 18V battery platform. One battery fits every 18V LXT tool, so a second tool costs you the tool and nothing else.

What is the difference between brushed and brushless?
A brushless motor has no carbon brushes to wear out. It generally runs cooler, lasts longer and gets more work out of the same battery charge.

Garden storage

Will Keter storage survive a British winter?
Yes. The resin is UV-protected and weather-resistant — it will not warp, rot, rust, dent or peel, and it never needs painting or treating.

Can I sit on a storage box?
Many of the larger boxes and all of the benches are built to seat two adults. The product page says so where it applies.

Are they lockable?
Most are, using a standard padlock. Padlocks are not included.

Kitchen and air treatment

Do the appliances have UK plugs?
Yes. Everything we list is the UK model — 230V mains with a three-pin plug. No adapter or transformer needed.

What is DualZone?
Two independent drawers with their own temperature and timer, so you can cook two things two ways and have them finish together.

Does the portable air conditioner need installing?
No. The PortaSplit is a mobile split unit — the outdoor half hangs on the included bracket or sits on a sill. No professional installer and no hole in the wall.
